whale-watching, golfing, fishing, and site seeing.

Enjoy local crabbing, fishing/swimming (both river and ocean), hiking, world class golf course, picnicking, boating, kite flying, beach combing, body surfing, and local tide pools. These are among the many recreational activities in this area. Just a 20 min. drive north you will find the famous Rouge River popular for it's jet boat rides. Just a 30 min. drive south and you can experience shark petting at the Crescent City Aquarium, or enjoy a day in the beautiful Redwood National Forest.

Brookings is the largest, most southerly of the Siskyou coast line cities. Located along America's Wild River Coast just 13 miles north of the California border. Brookings provides access to the Chetco and Winchuck Rivers, the Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area, and Oregon's most scenic coastline. Because of its unusually mild climate, Brookings is often referred to as "The Banana Belt of Oregon". Temperatures often reach 70°F even in the winter months while the rest of the coast is experiencing much cooler temperatures.
